DLC Overview
What do I get for my MS Points?
For your 800 MS points you get an additional area and associated quests. If you just do the main quests it will probably take you 2-3 hours to complete, and probably another 2 or 3 if you are looking to get all the achievement points and do not use a guide. There are also a few new items included in the DLC including weight loss (and gain) potions and height loss and gain potions.
How does this compare to DLC for other RPGs?
This compares well with what you get for your money with DLC from other RPGs as the Mass Effect DLC bringing down the sky cost 400 MS points when released and gave an additional 1-2 hours of gameplay and Knights of the Nine for Oblivion cost 800 MS points and that took up to 6 hours to complete if you Quick Travel.
Is it worth buying?
If you enjoy Fable 2 and have got bored with the existing levels then yes. There is however limited replayability and I thought the good vs evil choice at the end was very weak. I would have been tempted if playing an evil character to take the good choice simply because the reward offered was so poor!!! and because I would want to annoy the character offering it. Finally there is a resurrection shrine in Knothole so if you took the Good or Evil ending for the main game you get to bring “someone” back which unfortunately negates the reason for taking the neutral path. While I personally think the DLC is overpriced and it may be worth waiting for it to come down in price or be offered in a sale, it does compare well cost wise to DLC for other RPGs.
